On the page listing the features of Forte's Agent newsreader
(http://www.forteinc.com/agent/index.php), prominently including yEnc
capability, one of the images used to illustrate the page is a post by
Tom Callahan called "Blue angels in echelon" on 7/14/06 TO THIS VERY
GROUP! I don't remember which (if any) side of the yEnc issue Tom is
one, but it is f'in' hilarious that a.b.p.a is used to illustrate the
abilities of a yEnc-enabled newsreader!

I was very surprised to learn that one of his photos is being used in that
advertisement. In that I didn't post it as a copyrighted photo left me open
to such use of my image (I guess). I was upset that Forte's Agent
newsreader management didn't offer me a free subscription to their service.
Right after they started using my photo we had a resurgence in this
newsgroup about the use of yenc. I was against the use of anything other
than uuencode because I didn't know why yenc coding existed. I read the
messages flying back and forth. I'd always used a free copy of yenc decoder
along with my old Outlook Express software. I'd download the image and then
decode it as a jpg. It was always like gambling if the poster didn't have a
good subject line on his post.
Then someone (in Orlando I think) mentioned the OeyEnc Loader. I put that
on my PC and it's on my desktop as a shortcut. I now open OE in one of two
ways...for anything not involving yenc and for visits to the newsgroups.
It's painless to use the loader/decoder and it has not caused problems with
any of my other software as far as I can tell.
I still wish theat forteinc had contacted me and offered me a free
subscription for a while.
Better yet, I wish someone would post a link to a site that has a free
download of a simple, easy to use program that will decode the WinRAR posts
in the multimedia aviation newsgroup. That to me is a terrible waste of
bandwidth. I have the free decoder and still can't figure out how to do it.
Pretty bad when the porn sites are easier to combine and decode than
aviation videos.
That's it from my foxhole for tonight, Tom in Pensacola

I use that same program but it only seems to detect (decode) about 3or 4 out
of 10 of the yEnc posts - I dunno why, maybe the yEnc format comes in
different flavours, or there's something I've missed in the setup process of
either the OeyEnc or maybe OE itself.
I'm not greatly worried either way. If it decodes the file, that's fine, but
if it doesn't I dont lose any sleep over it.

Seems to be the norm for Yenc Products.
obviously the term yenc means flood newsgroups and steal photos ;-)
Was looking for a decoder and found this
http://www.ozinsight.com/client/
I can see at least 2 photos of mine on there.
oh, and mine have the copyright logo on them (At the start)

You would be within your rights to contact them with a stern "Please
Explain".
The word "theft" should mean something to them.
